UFree Network to defend the rights of Palestinian prisoners expressed its deep rage and sadness as Israel kills a Palestinian detainee today. Arafat Shalsh Jaradat, 30, has been murdered by Israeli intelligence (Mossad) while he was under extreme torture in Majdo prison facility. Jaradat has died due to a heart attack because of heavy beating and illegal practices of inhumane torture.
Jaradat was kidnapped from his house in Sa’ir town northern Hebron on the 18th February 2013. Later he was transferred to a number of Israeli prisoners and interrogated by Israeli intelligence which resulted in his death today.
Jaradat suffered from different health complications since his kidnapping. Yet, he was neglected by Israel and was not taken to a hospital until he died.
In this regards, UFree Network holds Israel the full responsibility of Jaradat’s death in addition to International Human Rights organisations which failed to stop Israeli practices.
“It’s widely known that Israel one of the top countries that constantly violates International laws. Yet, this fact did not drive an International action or pressure. Torture continued to be an integral part of the policy of this state. Meanwhile, no inspection against these prisons was carried out. There were also no reports that denounced what Israelis have been doing over the past decades.” Stated UFree
Such Israeli practiced and International community silence resulted in the death of Jaradat. It even gave as Israel a cover to continue its crimes against humanity.
UFree also expressed its fear over the health conditions of many Palestinian prisoners as Israel is medically neglecting their basic needs. It also calls on International organisations like the Red Cross, Amnesty and others to reveal all illegal practices committed by Israel and escalate them to the United Nations and the international community and European Union bodies.
It’s worth noting that over 207 Palestinian prisoners died in Israeli jails. Many of them were killed under torture and medical negligence. At the moment a number of prisoners are on a hunger strike to challenge Israeli inhumane practices as they were jailed for no reasons. Many of them are not given any proper care as a matter of pressure to stop their protest.
UFree Network is expected to lobby various Human Rights organisations onboard of UN human council which is due next month. It will seek to put the issue of Palestinian prisoners on the agenda.
